We knew that 2018 would be ROUND + SQUARE’s biggest year. With new products coming in and a new sales strategy underway, we’ve had to make a lot of changes. As some of you may have noticed, we have recently had to increase the prices of our products. We have always valued transparency and believe we owe an explanation to those of you who have supported ROUND + SQUARE from the beginning.
When ROUND + SQUARE was founded, we sold exclusively through our online store, selling directly to our customers. As we eliminated the wholesale and retail costs, we were able to keep our prices lower, while maintaining our high quality, and honoring our 30% donation to Equality Now.
However, we’ve recently been approached by smaller, consciously curated stores and collectives sharing our values; and chose to test how our brand would do in a retail format. As customers had the chance to see our products in person, and feel our superior quality first hand, we saw this as an opportunity to reach a broader audience.
Raising our price point was a decision I made with a heavy heart, but we embraced the need for more brand visibility and further opportunities to spread meaning fashion; therefore we had to adjust the prices to fit a new wholesale business model. If we kept our old prices, we would not have had enough money to continue our top-quality, fair trade production process, maintain the necessary costs to effectively run a brand, nor donate 30% of our sales profits to Equality Now.
Understanding how this news might catch some of you off guard, we are pleased to announce that we now offer free standard shipping anywhere within the U.S—saving customers an average of $10 per order. If you have any other questions, comments or concerns, feel free to reach out to our team and we’d be happy to continue this conversation!
We appreciate your understanding, and hope to not lose your trust and support. Thank you once again for being a valuable ROUND + SQUARE customer and for joining the fight for gender equality—in style.
